Queer Christmas

Presented by American Cinematheque
Dec 15 - Dec 24, 2024

Ongoing Series

The American Cinematheque is thrilled to ring in the Christmas season with a selection of films that celebrate queerness amidst the longing, melancholy and joy of the holidays.

Join us for a tribute to the many genres and styles of Queer Christmases Past, from the forbidden romance of Todd Haynes’ period drama CAROL to the anarchic B-movie theatrics of John Waters’ FEMALE TROUBLE. Whether you’re in the mood for RENT’s drama of love and loss during the AIDS epidemic or the grimy yuletide capers of TOKYO GODFATHERS and TANGERINE that set high-jinx in low places, there’s something under the tree for everyone this Queer Christmas.
