Founded in 1995 in Park City, UT as a scrappy alternative to its neighbor The Sundance Film Festival, Slamdance moved to LA for the fisrt time in 2025. The festival spotlights low-budget Narrative and Documentary Features by first-time directors, and Breakout Features from non-first time directors.
