Week of Apr 8
It's a full week for Queer cinema and a lot of great films and great guests on the calendar. Our pick of the week is Vera, a Brazilian film from the 80s that is one of the earliest transmasc films--and it's not streaming anywhere, so come enjoy this free film from the Outfest UCLA Legacy Project:

You can cut the lesbian tension with a knife in this arthouse masterpiece from Ingmar Begrman. Long imitated, this classic films follows a stage actress who has gone mute, and the pyschologically intense journey she goes on with her young nurse while recovering on an island.

This erotic revenge thriller from the 2023 Berlinale is not for the sensitive--as it follows a drag artist who is victim of a homophobic attack, and then sets out to seduce his closeted attacker after spotting him at a gay sauna.
Housekeeping for Beginners (2024)
Director Goran Stolevski is on a hot streak. Of An Age was warmly received in theaters in 2022. Then he went on to win the Queer Lion at Venice in 2023 with this new heartwarming comedy about a blended queer family, set in his homeland of North Macedonia.
