Week of Oct 14
The UCLA Film and TV Archive's Science Fiction Against the Margins series shows two Queer sci-fi centerpieces, both with filmmakers in person. First up on Friday is the restoration world premiere of 1997's bisexual time travel noir The Sticky Fingers of Time, with director Hilary Brougher in person. Then on Saturday they present Neptune Frost, a dystopian tech decay fantasia, filmed by a cast and crew of Burundi refugees. Directors Saul Williams and Anisia Uzeyman will join for a Q&A after the film.
Both films are at the Hammer Museum, where all film programs are presented free with no tickets or reservations. Seats are first-come first-served, starting when the box office opens an hour before showtime.
