Vicky, an out-of-work actress, struggling waitress and lesbian has her whole life thrown into turmoil when her father comes from Germany to visit. The main problem is that Vicky has told him she is a successful actress and happily married. She enlists the help of a gay friend to play her husband. Using a large range of characters—gay, lesbian, straight, transsexuals—the film creates a funny and touching view of family dynamics and sexuality.

This film is presented in English with English subtitles.

Not to be confused with the gay porn classic Pink Narcissus, Pink Ulysses is the latest Dutch treat from director Eric de Kuyper (A Strange Love Affair). Pink Ulysses is an intoxicating brew of muscular bodies, operatic tableaux and music from Zarah Leander to Stravinsky's 'Rites of Spring.' In fact, if Pink Narcissus were re-made for the '90s, this cultish cross between a Steve Reeves sandal-and-sword epic and a homoerotic Homer would probably be the mind boggling result. Pink Ulysses redefines camp for the MTV generation with wit and saturated color. A knockout kickoff to this year's festival!
