Inspired by the fictionalized autobiographical writings of poet/essayist/vidoemaker/performance artist David Wojnarwicz (who died of AIDS last year), the film knots together three stories from the life of a young gay outsider named David. The film follows David through his violent suburban childhood, his teen years as a hustler on the streets of New York, and finally explores his adulthood fascination with anonymous sex, the American desert and the open road.
