Boston LGBT Film Festival 2009
The Story of one night at London’s Transfabulous Arts Festival. In 2004 in the UK, the Gender Recognition Act came into law giving new rights to transgender people - the act itself dividing gender along binary lines. In the wake of the act, many couldn’t locate themselves in the new boxes or even tick one. This film charts performers who re-imagine what gender could mean in the wake of “the act.”

Désarmés (Surrender)
Dancers Daniel and Avi choreograph an ephemeral affair in the transitory city of Tel Aviv, playfully hunting each other and withholding desire in a tormented chase of unchartered Eros. Oree Holban, a great performer, a known personnage in the Tel Aviv drag scene, and a star of the film will be present. He is currently an exchange student at the Rhode Island School of Design. He will be present for a Q & A about the making of the film.
