THANK YOU FROM OUR BIG GAY HEARTS!

10 days...23 feature films...16 shorts programs...all from the comfort from your home.

This year we had to pivot our festival and you all came along for the ride. Our first online festival was a huge success and we can't thank our filmmakers and audience enough. Xerbtv gave everyone the festival experience and brought you films from all over the world. THANK YOU for showing up, for speaking up, and for believing that queer cinema is an essential part of our culture and our community.

JURY AWARD: NARRATIVE FEATURE

TWILIGHT'S KISS (SUK SUK) - Narrative Jury Prize

Spotlighting two older gay men falling in love, SUK SUK is a beautiful and touching film that expresses the broad spectrum of what it means to be human and gay. As it authentically delves into the conflicts that exist between family structures and intimate relationships and how the choice between the two is never black and white. With superb cinematography, performances, and music, SUK SUK is a worthy winner from a talented filmmaker who knows how to to find the heart of a story.

FIREFLIES - Narrative Jury Honorable Mention

With its beautiful cinematography, nuanced performances, engaging characters, and its incredible sense of place in a displaced world.  We wish to commend FIREFLIES for showcasing a story that needs to be seen.

JURY AWARD: DOCUMENTARY FEATURE

Queen Lapa - Documentary Jury Prize

"This year’s award for best documentary is a politically radical portrait of transgender sex workers in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Without inserting themselves into the film, the directors artistically reveal the nature of humanity, fragility, friendship and a quest for love and acceptance within a community that is enveloped by violence and hostility. For its achievement in the brilliant, tender, raw and intimate portraiture, the WICKED QUEER jury has chosen to award QUEEN OF LAPA directed by Theodore Collatos and Carolina Monnerat.

Pier Kids - Documentary Honorable Mention

PIER KIDS by Elegance Bratton receives Special Mention for shedding a powerful and faithful light on the corrosive and pervasive issue of homelessness affecting Black gay and transgender youth in New York City, USA."
